Together, We Can Bridge the Gap

Giving Tuesday is Tuesday, December 1st, and it is our single biggest fundraising effort of the year

In a city as massive as ours, P.S. 165 offers a warm, inclusive community where every child is known by name, understood, and supported. Together as an extended family and community, we can protect the special programs that make our neighborhood school thrive.

The Challenge We Face

Historically, the programs beyond standard Department of Education funding were sustained by $230,000 in Federal Title I grants alongside PTA support. Today, Federal Title I funding has dropped to $0. Without our collective action, the crucial enrichment, mental health resources, and academic support programs our children rely on are at risk.

You Can Make a Difference Today

This year, your gift will go twice as far. Thanks to a group of generous anonymous donors, the first $15,000 raised will be matched 100% dollar-for-dollar. Every donation made in December counts toward our Giving Tuesday goal.

Ways to give

There are many ways to support P.S. 165 this Giving Tuesday:

  • Give $1,065, our suggested gift. Every gift, no matter the amount, helps us reach our goal.

  • Plan a monthly donation! $88.75/month for 12 months equals the suggested gift of $1,065. You don’t have to give it all at once.

  • Place a bid on From the Art Room, Ms. Lisa’s holiday auction to support our school launching around Thanksgiving.

  • Share with grandparents and family! Send our Giving Tuesday flyer to grandparents and anyone who would love to support P.S. 165. Download a flyer for your friends and family here.

From the Art Room

Our art teacher, Ms. Lisa, is creating pieces for a special holiday auction to benefit our school. She will have 10 pieces, including clocks, a 12-inch hydrangea plate, spoon holders, and platters. We expect bidding will open Sunday, November 22, and close Friday, December 18. Winning pieces will be distributed during our holiday concerts, December 21 to 23, before winter break.

Every winning bid counts toward our Giving Tuesday goal!
