Student Support Services

We believe that for a child to excel, they must first feel safe, seen, and supported. Our onsite support team works collaboratively with parents and teachers to ensure every student has the tools they need to succeed at school.

Social-Emotional & Mental Health

We take a "whole-child" approach to wellness.

  • Guidance Counselors: Our guidance counselors provide support to all students through SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) sessions focusing on empathy, conflict resolution, and self-regulation; proactive bullying prevention; and small-group support for peer dynamics or organizational skills.

  • Mental Health Clinician: For students who require deeper emotional support, we offer onsite clinical therapy. For eligible students, these services provide a private space to work through complex emotional or behavioral needs.

IEP Services

For students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), P.S. 165 offers integrated services during the school day for Occupational Therapy (OT), Physical Therapy (PT), Counseling, Speech & Language Therapy, and vision & hearing support, as needed.
