Welcome to the P. S. 165 Parent-Teacher Association

(The PTA)

The PTA is a group of parents and teachers working collaboratively with our school administration, staff, and School Leadership Team to enrich the environment for all our students. Our PTA serves all grades, PreK through 5th, and we look for programs and opportunities that can support our entire school community.

The funds will:

Buy Library furniture to provide a community space for literacy engagement
Replace and repair outdated books
Expand book selection to reflect our students cultural diversity

Here are some ways to support the school community:

Run for a PTA board position:

Co-President, Co-Secretary, Co-Treasurer

( Elections are held in June of each year)

Join a PTA Committee:

Events, Science, Communications, Culture & Inclusion, Wellness, Science, Literacy, and Fundraising Committee
Download PTA Parents Guide for a description of each committee.
( Enrollment takes place throughout the school year)

Join the SLT (School Leadership Team):

Elections are held in the Fall of each year

Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students, and enthusiastic parents with high expectations.

Where do you fit in?

As a parent or guardian of a child attending PS 165, you are automatically a member of the PTA!

How can you get involved?

Please come to PTA meetings, where you can find out more about what we're doing to improve the school and see what you can do to help! Please get to know our board members.
Translation services provided at all meetings.

Volunteer at our events! We can always use more help.
We also encourage you to attend the School Leadership Team (SLT) meetings.
Last but not least, please donate to the PTA. Every dollar counts!

But I don't have time!

We are all busy parents, but every little bit helps.

Each committee offers an opportunity to volunteer for only a couple of hours in the entire school year or on a month to month basis. Click here for more on the different committees.
