Principal’s Message

Dear P.S. 165 Community,

I hope you've all had a wonderful summer filled with fun, rest, and time with loved ones. As we look ahead to a new school year, I’m excited for all the learning, growth, and joy that awaits our students and staff.

I want to share a personal update with you—I'm currently on maternity leave and will be returning to school in mid-October. During my time away, our incredible Assistant Principal, Xaymara Rosado, will be overseeing the daily operations of the school. AP Rosado possesses strong leadership, dedication, and a deep understanding of our school community, and I have full confidence in her ability to ensure a smooth and successful start to the year.

Please know that even while I’m away, the heart of our school remains the same—focused on student success, a nurturing environment, and strong partnerships with our families. You can continue to reach out to PS 165 Parent Coordinator, Mayeline Minaya, parentcoordinator@robertesimon.org or to Assistant Principal Rosado xrosado@schools.nyc.gov directly for any support or questions you may have.

Wishing you all a fantastic start to the school year and I look forward to reconnecting with you all soon!

Warm regards,

Jessica Scanlon
P.S. 165 Principal
