Special update for Thursday, September 17
Due to late breaking guidance from the Mayor's Office and the DOE, for the week of Sep 21 - 25, in-person learning will be available only for PreK classes. Additional updates will be made to this section for all grades PreK-5 as we get closer to Sep 29. Please watch this page and our News page for more information.
Special update for Monday, September 21
As per the official communication from the NYC DOE COVID-19 Situation Room, sent out by Principal Castellano and her staff via email: For Monday, September 21, PreK Cohort A in-person classes are remote. PreK Cohort A families also received a phone blast with this information. Please continue to watch your email and phone for updates.
Special update for Tuesday, September 22
As per the official communication from the NYC DOE COVID-19 Situation Room, sent out by Principal Castellano and her staff via email: The NYC Test + Trace Corps and the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene have completed a thorough investigation, and determined that the building is clear to reopen for regularly scheduled activities on [9/22/2020]. As such, for Tuesday, September 22, PreK Cohort A in-person classes are being held at PS165. Additional safety precautions will be required, as outlined in tonight's email communication. PreK Cohort A families also received a phone blast with this information. PreK Cohort B families will be updated by their teachers on Tuesday.

Arrival and dismissal procedures
Academic excellence and good work habits begin with exemplary attendance. Please be sure to have your child in school on time every day!
Please note that all families must follow the safety procedures outlined in the safety documentation in all of the documents on this page. This includes mandatory temperature checks with a contactless thermometer. Please take a moment to review the safety procedures, and thank you for helping our school community's safety.

Special notes for Pre-K families
During arrival, PreK parents can drop off inside the playground gate but must keep moving and immediately leave the yard to prevent crowding and maintain social distancing.
